Time for a change?

Okay, this may not be the most popular suggestion, but isn't it time to consider moving MATG to the fall season when it's much cooler and the scenery is even better? We're driving up tomorrow and I can hear my wife urge me to put the top up because it's too darn hot. Just a thought...

And I thought it was just me who thinks it gets too hot to put the top down LOL. From the looks of things it'll be up anyway because it's suppose to rain all weekend. :(

No! Not fall. We'll have to compete with the "leaf peepers" for hotel rooms, and the rates will be a lot higher.

Good point GeeBee, although I don't think you would compete with the leaf peepers late September. Another option would be April or May. No peepers then. And I bet the rates are good. And our rates at Fontana this weekend are high, I think - $119 per night plus tax. In any case, hot weather in July is a guarantee!

no but we'd have to make sure when theirs is so ours wouldn't cross over.

Everyone I talked to said it's always been this particular weekend. I'm sure it's not always this hot LOL I don't mind this weekend because it seems to always fall on or around my birthday

I agree with a change of calendar--we had a WONDERFUL time this year at our first MATG, but the heat was BRUTAL and we didn't enjoy it as much as we could have.

We LOVED the weather and the heat was GREAT for tires on pavement. Please don't change a thing! Can't wait until next year :)

If it moves to fall, there's a group of us that will be back. We didn't come this year because it was SO hot last year.

I'm here this w/e in the rain, Sept 23,24,25. Nice & cool, actually got here Wednesday in the rain......... A bike rally here for the w/e tho'
September is the peak hurricane month & the remnants can pour inches of rain over a huge area. Just sayin'
The only difference between Spirited & Stupid is tire squeal.
