Fontana Village
Since 2008, Fontana Village has served as Ground Zero for Miatas at the Gap. The Village consists of a variety of lodging accommodations including private cabins, hotel style rooms, campsites, and RV hookups. Fontana Village is normally booked a year in advance for our event but there are sometimes cancellations that allow event goers to have chances to book. There is a General Store in the village that sells merchandise, snacks, ice cream and more. Additionally, there is a Pitstop Gas Station just outside of the Village. Visit the Fontana Village website to find hours of operation. Outside of the main lodge is where we set up “Vendor Alley” for Miatas at the Gap. Every year we are able to set aside cabins, camping spots, and lodge rooms that are only available to our group. This block, except for the camping spots, is pre-negotiated at a special discount rate that is only available for attendees of MATG. To take advantage of these rates, you must register directly by phone and tell them you’re with the Miatas at the Gap group. Fontana Village also houses one of the few bars in the area, multiple restaurants. We are grateful to Fontana Village for hosting our event for the last decade and look forward to our continued relationship with them.

TAPOCO LODGE
Nestled on the banks of the Cheoah River, historic Tapoco Lodge has been a North Carolina mainstay for outdoor adventurers, gear heads, and nature enthusiasts since 1930. The lodge consists of suites, lodge rooms, and cabins. Inside the lodge you can find Tapoco Tavern where you can enjoy pizza and American flavors along the Cheoah River. Deal’s Gap
Motorcycle Resort
Formerly known as the Crossroads of Time, Deal’s Gap Motorcycle Resort is located at the North Carolina end of the Tail of the Dragon. At the intersection of US 129 and Hwy. 28 they offer motel rooms, apartments, camping facilities, restaurant, gas station, and a convenience store with merchandise, memorabilia, snacks, soda, and water. The restaurant on premises, The Dragon’s Den Grill, offers burgers, chicken, sandwiches, and a daily special. They also offer breakfast from 8am until 11am ranging from a simple bowl of oatmeal to the Dragon Slayer, consisting of 3 eggs, hash browns, bacon or sausage, grits, toast, biscuits and gravy, and pancakes. A few beers are offered on tap, but they must be consumed on premises.

Surrounded by forest next to the Cheoah River, these seasonal, treehouse-inspired cabins are a 14 minute walk from charming shops in the town center, and 18 miles from the edge of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Featuring furnished, forest-view decks with gas barbecue grills, the 6 rustic-chic cabins are built on stilts, and offer en suite bathrooms and flat-screen TVs, as well as minifridges, microwaves and coffeemakers. Snowbird
Mountain Lodge
Off Cherohala Skyway and 3.1 miles from the Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest, this rustic lodge is 3.7 miles from the shore of Santeetlah Lake. The relaxed rooms are uniquely decorated and spread over 2 lodges and a cottage. All have free Wi-Fi, and en suite bathrooms with showers and wood paneling which is harvested on the property. Cottage rooms feature sitting areas with fireplaces, plus 2-person whirlpool tubs and private decks.
